The Annual South Dakota High School Press Association Fall Convention will be held Monday, September 29, 2008, on the campus of South Dakota State University.

 Students and advisers are encouraged to attend the event which features a keynote speaker, individual speaker workshop, writing contests and much more.

South Dakota State University’s Journalism Department’s Summer Institute Program was another success this year for students and advisers! Each learned elements on the process of creating newspapers and yearbooks for their school.

The workshops were held in June 2008 on the campus of SDSU during the following dates: Yearbook June 8-12 and Newspaper June 15-19. Students and advisers from across the state participated in workshops about writing, designing and photography.

All students received All State Journalists awards, with additional awards being given for outstanding effort during the program. Check out the link on the right listed under “Pages” for a list of student and adviser attendees and those who received special recognition.
